Kia ora everyone,
Thank you to those who attended the AWE networking event on 8 June 2023.
It was great to see some of you again, meet new people, and even get to know people we’ve known for a while, a lot better! It was so inspiring to hear your stories and about your work.
A big congratulations to Maggie for winning the emergency sanitation pack!
Now, where do we go from here? The bar has been set high with this event, but I firmly believe that, together, we can surpass it! If any of you are willing to lend a hand in planning upcoming networking or learning opportunities, please reach out. Our aim is to organise at least one event each month, alternating between social gatherings and educational workshops.
In response to the conversations held last night, we have created an NZ AWE Facebook group, providing us with a dedicated platform for further engagement and collaboration. You can connect here https://www.facebook.com/groups/962583255169771
Other opportunities:
- Are you a member? If not, it’s free to join and offers so many opportunities. https://www.awenetwork.org.au/join-awe-network/
- We briefly touched on mentoring last night. AWE has a dedicated mentee and mentoring programme. Could you benefit from an NZ mentor? Could you offer mentorship to NZ women in the field? https://www.awenetwork.org.au/mentoring/
Thank you again for your contribution to making our event a resounding success. I look forward to working alongside each of you to fortify and empower the NZ Women in Emergencies Network.
