Newcomers to Disaster and Climate Resilience Virtual Meet-up

Loading Events

Are you new to the sector of disaster resilience? Come along to an informal meet-up with other newcomers and peers from across Australia and New Zealand working and volunteering alongside communities in disaster resilience and risk reduction.

Our virtual meet-up on Zoom at 5:00pm AEDT (8:00pm NZST) on Tuesday 24 October 2023.

This meet-up offers a first step in connecting with others to discuss and navigate the complex realities we face working or volunteering in climate adaptation & disaster risk reduction and resilience.

We know community resilience work takes everyone, across a range of geographies, lived experiences, identities, organisations and sectors, and we want to hear from all of you.

We recognise the importance that people newly entering the resilience field come from sectors beyond emergency management including community development, environmental management, engineering/planning, climate change, education, academia and so many more!

Please join us if you are seeking a coalition of willing peers with diverse experiences and insights to support collective learning as we work to build capacities to cope with and adapt to disruption across Australia, New Zealand and the Region.

If any of this sounds interesting please come along to find out more, and please share widely.

If you are interested in joining the AWE network as a women, gender-diverse person or someone wanting to work in allyship for gender equitable resilience please Join here.
